Marie Talarico

 

Hi, I am a sophomore from Troy, MI. My main interests are: politics, reading, and coffee (not necessarily in that order). And movie trilogies (The Godfather, LOTR, etc).

 

What I am Studying: I am studying political science in LS&A. Currently I am especially passionate about the criminal justice system and its many, many issues. 

 

My Position: I'm the President. The Top Dog. The Head Honcho. The Big Cheese. OK, actually all I do is make sure everyone else is doing whatever it is they're supposed to be doing (and they almost always are). In all seriousness, it is my job to ensure our members are getting the fraternity they want. 

 

Favorite part about KOA: My favorite thing about KOA is that the fraternity has given me some of my closest friendships in college. It is simply a wonderful community to be a part of.

 

Favorite professional gig or event: We had a diplomat, Michelle Jones, come in to speak with us and she was so interesting! She talked about her experiences in different countries, and all of the various work she did for the Foreign Service - it just seemed like such an adventure.​

Random Fact: I have considered the following career paths as alternatives to my current plan: ballerina (but I can't dance); Peruvian potato farmer (but I'm not good with agriculture); high-class criminal à la Ocean's Eleven (how does one get into that line of work?); and reality show star (either The Real Housewives or Jeopardy).
